Shah Alam, 6 March 2025 – IKRAM Works Sdn. Bhd. had the esteemed opportunity to present its corporate background, core services, and advancements in technology adoption, particularly in Building Information Modelling (BIM), to NAZA Engineering Construction (NAZA EC) at their headquarters in Shah Alam.

The IKRAM BIM team, led by CEO Dato’ Ir. Ts. Hj. Mohd Taufik bin Haron, received a warm welcome from NAZA EC representatives, including Project Director Mr. Br. Mazlan Abd Mansor. The session was chaired by NAZA EC’s Dato’ Azman Marzuki, setting the stage for an insightful discussion on BIM and its implementation.

Mr. Mohd Farhan Bin Hasan, Assistant BIM Manager at IKRAM Works, spearheaded the presentation by introducing the company and its extensive range of services. He then delved into BIM, providing a comprehensive overview that included the fundamentals of BIM, maturity levels, Level of Development (LOD), as well as the advantages and challenges of BIM implementation in Malaysia. The discussion also touched upon Malaysia’s current BIM adoption rate and the government’s initiatives to promote its use.

To showcase the practical implementation of BIM, Mr. Farhan presented case studies of successful and ongoing BIM projects undertaken by IKRAM across various disciplines, including buildings, structural remedial works, slope remedial works, and road and infrastructure projects. The presentation highlighted the processes and challenges encountered during execution, providing valuable insights into real-world BIM applications.

A key focus of the session was the implementation of BIM for slope remedial works, where Mr. Farhan presented the completed Genting Peras Slope Remedial Project in Hulu Langat, Selangor. The audience was guided through IKRAM’s BIM workflow, which integrates various technologies such as Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) and drone surveys to generate PointCloud data. The data is then processed into Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and Digital Surface Models (DSM) before being integrated into the Autodesk ecosystem using ReCap-Pro, Civil 3D, Infraworks, and Revit. The final 3D model is then transferred to Autodesk Navisworks for 4D and 5D BIM simulations, demonstrating the full potential of BIM in engineering projects.

The presentation was met with enthusiastic participation, with NAZA EC representatives engaging in discussions, sharing insights, and raising questions about BIM applications. NAZA EC expressed their appreciation for the session, acknowledging that it provided a clearer understanding of BIM, particularly in relation to slope remedial works.

IKRAM Works Sdn. Bhd. remains committed to advancing digitalization and technology adoption in the construction industry, reinforcing its position as a leader in engineering solutions through innovative BIM implementation.
