Johor Bahru, September 2024 – IKRAM Works Sdn Bhd (IWSB) made a significant impact at the recent Highway Concession Conference (HCC) 2024, held from September 17th to 19th at Renaissance Hotel Johor Bahru. Hosted by Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM), the event brought together key industry experts to exchange insights and address challenges within the Malaysian highway industry, while promoting digitalization and sustainability in toll highway operations.
IWSB actively participated by securing a booth to promote its wide range of services and emphasize its commitment to digital transformation across all engineering disciplines. The services highlighted included:

Among the notable presentations at the event was a talk by Mr. Ts. Vincent Ting Choon Fook, General Manager of IKRAM Pavement Engineering (Data Collection) Division. He showcased IWSB’s expertise in Pavement, Highway & Transportation Engineering, reinforcing the company’s position as a leader in this field.
In line with the Malaysian government’s initiatives through the Ministry of Works to embrace Building Information Modelling (BIM) in construction processes, IWSB took a step forward by showcasing its BIM Department. Assistant BIM Manager, Mr. Mohd Farhan Hasan, highlighted the importance of BIM to the audience, focusing on its applications in the construction industry. He emphasized IWSB’s “Scan-to-BIM” capabilities, which leverage cutting-edge technologies such as Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS), drones, and LiDAR.
During his presentation, Mr. Mohd Farhan demonstrated the use of TLS equipment, explaining how the “Point Cloud” data generated through the technology is utilized for various analyses, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of construction projects. His demonstration captivated the audience and underscored IWSB’s role as a pioneer in adopting advanced digital solutions in the engineering field.
The highlight of IWSB’s participation came when the Deputy Minister of Works Malaysia, YBhg Datuk Seri Haji Ahmad Bin Haji Maslan, visited the IWSB booth. He expressed his appreciation for IWSB’s efforts in embracing BIM, saying, “It is encouraging to see companies like IKRAM Works leading the way in adopting digital solutions like BIM. The construction industry must evolve, and IWSB is setting an excellent example by integrating advanced technology into their processes. I am confident that BIM will play a crucial role in ensuring more efficient and sustainable infrastructure development in Malaysia.”
Additionally, IWSB’s booth attracted the attention of LLM Director General, Dato’ Ir. Sazali Bin Harun, who was particularly impressed by the BIM technology showcased by IWSB. He stated, “The level of innovation presented by IKRAM Works in the use of BIM and other digital tools is highly commendable. I believe this technology will bring about significant improvements in how we manage and maintain our highways and assets. The demonstration today shows that the future of construction lies in digitalization, and IKRAM Works is clearly at the forefront of this transformation.”
