Kajang, 27th November 2024 – IKRAM Works Sdn Bhd (IKRAM) welcomed visitors from Jabatan Teknologi Awam, Kolej Vokasional Kangar, at its headquarters in Kajang. The program, named “Lawatan Industri Kolej Vokasional Kangar ke IKRAM Works Sdn Bhd,” was led by Puan Hazwani Binti Sapar, the Head of Jabatan Teknologi Awam, and Tc Abdul Rahim Bin Ahmad, a lecturer from the Program Teknologi Pembinaan. They were accompanied by 14 second-year students from the Program Teknologi Pembinaan.

      Representing IKRAM were Dato’ Ir. Ts. Hj. Mohd Taufik Bin Haron, the CEO, and division directors. This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, showcasing IKRAM’s engineering capabilities while fostering collaboration opportunities in training, consultancy, internships, and technology transfer.

A Day of Knowledge and Collaboration
The day began with a warm welcome by the program chairperson, Ms. Rafidah Binti Umar, followed by an inspiring speech from IKRAM’s CEO, Dato’ Ir. Ts. Hj. Mohd Taufik Bin Haron. Representing Kolej Vokasional Kangar, Puan Hazwani delivered an address emphasizing the importance of industry exposure for students.

      Mr. Mohd Farhan Hasan, Assistant BIM Manager at IKRAM, then took the stage for an engaging presentation on “Introduction to IKRAM” and “IKRAM Embracing BIM for Digital Construction.” His session resonated with the audience, sparking numerous questions and discussions, highlighting IKRAM’s leadership in adopting Building Information Modeling (BIM) for digital construction solutions.

      A heartfelt appreciation speech by student representative Muhammad Luqman Bin Rushedi followed, accompanied by a short video showcasing the vibrant academic environment of Kolej Vokasional Kangar. The young student’s speech added a charming and motivational touch to the event.

Interactive Demonstrations and Visits
After a lunch break and Zohor prayers, the visitors explored IKRAM’s state-of-the-art facilities. At Block 5, the guests witnessed a demonstration of the Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS). This advanced technology, used for capturing high-precision 3D spatial data, was presented with real-world applications, showcasing its effectiveness in surveying, infrastructure analysis, and engineering design. Students actively participated, asking questions and gaining firsthand experience with cutting-edge tools.

      The tour continued at Block 8, where visitors explored IKRAM’s ISO-accredited Pavement Laboratory. Here, the group was introduced to the latest technologies in pavement, highway, and transportation engineering. Demonstrations highlighted IKRAM’s capabilities in data collection, analysis, and material testing. The students observed processes like asphalt quality testing, road surface analysis, and structural material assessments, gaining invaluable insights into the practical aspects of engineering.

A Memorable Experience
The visit proved to be a mutually enriching experience. Students and lecturers expressed gratitude for the opportunity to see real-world engineering practices in action. The event not only showcased IKRAM’s six core services but also inspired future engineers to pursue their career paths with a better understanding of industry expectations and technological advancements.

      IKRAM CEO, Dato’ Ir. Ts. Hj. Mohd Taufik, expressed his hope for continued collaboration, emphasizing the importance of nurturing young talents for Malaysia’s engineering future.

      As the day concluded, the smiles and enthusiasm of the students reflected the success of the program, cementing IKRAM’s role as a Centre of Engineering Solutions that actively bridges industry and academia.
