PUTRAJAYA, 8 May 2025 – IKRAM Works Sdn Bhd (IWSB) proudly took part in the Simposium Cerun Negara 2025 as an exhibitor and knowledge contributor, held from 7 to 8 May 2025 at The Everly Putrajaya. The event, organized to bring together stakeholders in the slope-engineering field, provided a crucial platform for IKRAM to showcase its multifaceted capabilities in engineering solutions, particularly in slope-related infrastructure and technology-driven construction.

With a strong commitment to delivering resilient and sustainable engineering solutions, IKRAM’s participation revolved around several core objectives: displaying technical expertise, expanding networks, promoting innovation, and supporting national agendas such as climate adaptation and digital transformation in construction.

BIM in the Spotlight: IKRAM’s Leading Role in Slope Management

A major highlight of the symposium was the presentation by IKRAM’s Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Ir. Ts. Hj. Mohd Taufik Bin Haron, who was specially invited as a guest speaker. His presentation titled “BIM Application for Efficient Slope Management” received considerable attention, emphasizing how Building Information Modelling (BIM) has revolutionized slope assessment, monitoring, and mitigation planning.

In his talk, Dato’ Ir. Ts. Hj. Mohd Taufik outlined how IKRAM’s BIM Department has successfully integrated digital workflows with geotechnical data, real-time monitoring, and project coordination to improve decision-making, reduce risks, and enhance the lifecycle management of slope assets. He also shared real case studies where BIM was utilized up to 5D in LOD500—including
for slope remedial works—underscoring IKRAM’s role as a national leader in BIM implementation.

Exhibition Booth: A Hub of Innovation and Collaboration

IKRAM’s exhibition booth attracted professionals from across government agencies, academia, and the private sector. The booth featured interactive displays of IKRAM’s services including advanced geotechnical solutions, material and pavement testing, geo-environmental monitoring, and BIM applications. Visitors engaged with IKRAM’s engineers and BIM specialists to gain insights into how the company combines conventional expertise with digital tools to manage complex slope projects.

Driving Sustainable Engineering Forward

Aligned with the symposium’s overarching themes of slope resilience, climate adaptation, and sustainable infrastructure, IKRAM took the opportunity to promote environmentally responsible practices. This included advocating for data-driven design, preventive maintenance strategies, and the use of low-carbon construction methodologies—reflecting the company’s dedication to long-term resilience and climate action.

Strengthening Industry Collaboration

As part of the event’s networking sessions, IKRAM’s team interacted with a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives from the Public Works Department (JKR), Ministry of Works, local authorities, consultants, and industry peers. These interactions opened doors for future collaborations, joint research efforts, and project opportunities within and beyond the slope engineering sector.

IKRAM Works Sdn Bhd’s successful presence at Simposium Cerun Negara 2025 reflects its continuing mission to be the Centre of Engineering Solutions—delivering innovation, excellence, and sustainable impact across Malaysia’s infrastructure landscape.
