Kajang, 22 July 2026 – Demonstrating its continued commitment to cultivating technical excellence and strengthening knowledge-sharing across the engineering profession, IKRAM Engineering & Consultancy Division of Protasco Berhad successfully organised the Technical Knowledge Sharing Symposium 3.0 on 21–22 July 2026 at the Handasia Room, IKRAM Headquarters. The two-days symposium was conducted in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend both physically and through an online platform, enabling wider participation from across the Protasco Berhad Group.

The symposium brought together engineers, technical professionals, managers, and executives from IKRAM’s subsidiaries and sister companies, including IKRAM Works Sdn. Bhd. (IWSB), IKRAM Premier Consulting Sdn. Bhd.  (IPCSB), IKRAM Engineering Services Sdn. Bhd. (IESSB), IKRAM QA Services Sdn. Bhd. (IQASSB), IKRAM Paves Berhad (IPSB), and IKRAM Engineering Consultancy Sdn. Bhd. (IECSB). The event served as an excellent platform for participants representing various engineering disciplines to exchange ideas, broaden their technical perspectives, and strengthen professional networks across the Group.

Organised by the Engineering & Consultancy Division of Protasco Berhad, the symposium aimed to foster a strong culture of continuous learning, promote multidisciplinary collaboration, and encourage the sharing of practical engineering experiences and technical innovations. Beyond enhancing individual competencies, the programme also sought to increase awareness of the wide range of engineering expertise available within the IKRAM Group, encourage greater cross-company collaboration, eliminate technical silos, and create opportunities for integrated engineering solutions capable of addressing increasingly complex industry challenges.

Throughout the two-day programme, participants were exposed to a series of insightful presentations covering a diverse spectrum of engineering disciplines. Topics included Axle Load Survey, Autodesk Civil 3D, Groundwater Engineering, Ground LiDAR by Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS), Fundamental of Drainage, Pavement Design, Spalled Concrete Assessment, Concrete Pavement, and CBP Wall Analysis Using PLAXIS. Each session was delivered by experienced engineers and subject matter experts from various IKRAM subsidiaries, followed by interactive question-and-answer sessions that encouraged constructive discussions, knowledge exchange, and practical problem-solving.

The diversity of topics reflected the comprehensive technical capabilities available within the IKRAM Group, showcasing its strengths in civil, geotechnical, transportation, pavement, digital engineering, structural assessment, and asset management. Participants were given valuable exposure to engineering methodologies, emerging technologies, software applications, field practices, and real project experiences that can be applied across multiple engineering disciplines.

The symposium received overwhelming participation and highly positive feedback from attendees. Many participants highlighted that the programme significantly enhanced their understanding of engineering disciplines beyond their own areas of expertise while providing valuable insights into how different technical specialisations can work together to deliver more holistic and innovative engineering solutions. The interactive nature of the symposium also encouraged stronger collaboration among engineers from different subsidiaries, reinforcing the Group’s vision of operating as one integrated engineering team.

More importantly, the success of the Technical Knowledge Sharing Symposium 3.0 further demonstrated the strategic role of IKRAM Engineering & Consultancy  Division as the centre of engineering excellence within Protasco Berhad. The programme not only highlighted the depth and breadth of technical expertise across the Group but also reinforced IKRAM’s commitment to developing competent engineering professionals, nurturing innovation, and continuously strengthening the organisation’s technical capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the infrastructure and construction industry.

Following the remarkable success of this edition, the symposium has further strengthened enthusiasm among participants for future knowledge-sharing initiatives, reaffirming IKRAM’s commitment to promoting lifelong learning, technical excellence, and multidisciplinary collaboration as key drivers in delivering sustainable, innovative, and high-quality engineering solutions.
