Alor Gajah, 20 July 2026 – IKRAM Works Sdn. Bhd. (IKRAM) was honoured to receive an invitation from the Pusat Kecemerlangan Kejuruteraan dan Teknologi JKR (CREaTE) to deliver a technical presentation highlighting the company’s engineering capabilities, multidisciplinary services, and digital transformation journey through the implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM).

The visit formed part of a strategic knowledge-sharing session aimed at strengthening collaboration between industry and government in advancing engineering excellence and accelerating digital transformation within Malaysia’s construction sector.

The IKRAM delegation was led by the Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Ir. Ts. Hj. Mohd Taufik Bin Haron, who presented an overview of IKRAM’s comprehensive engineering and consultancy services covering Geotechnical & Geo Environmental Engineering, Pavement, Highway & Transportation Engineering, Structural  Assessment & Forensic Engineering, Construction & BIM Engineering, Product  Certification, as well as Professional & Technical Engineering Services.

The presentation session was chaired by Ir. Som Pong A/L Pichan A.M.N., Pengarah Bahagian Inovasi, Penyelidikan & Pembangunan Kejuruteraan, whose leadership facilitated an engaging and productive technical dialogue between both organisations.

During his presentation, Dato’ Ir. Ts. Hj. Mohd Taufik shared IKRAM’s continuous commitment towards engineering innovation, particularly in embracing Building Information Modelling (BIM) as a core component of its project delivery. He highlighted how BIM has transformed the way engineering projects are planned, designed, coordinated, constructed, and managed throughout their lifecycle. Through practical project examples, the audience was introduced to IKRAM’s implementation of BIM across infrastructure, geotechnical, slope engineering, asset management, and digital construction projects, demonstrating significant improvements in collaboration, decision-making, project quality, and operational efficiency.

The presentation attracted considerable interest from the management of CREaTE as well as the participating engineers and researchers. The audience showed keen enthusiasm throughout the session, with numerous questions and discussions focusing on BIM implementation strategies, digital engineering practices, multidisciplinary coordination, and the practical application of BIM in complex infrastructure and geotechnical projects. The highly interactive discussion reflected the growing interest among government agencies in adopting advanced digital engineering solutions to enhance project delivery and long-term asset management.

Following the presentation, IKRAM and CREaTE officially exchanged souvenirs as a symbol of mutual appreciation and the shared aspiration to strengthen future collaboration between the two organisations. The delegation was subsequently given an exclusive tour of CREaTE’s world-class research facilities, including the Structural, Concrete & Environmental Laboratory, Road Research Laboratory, and Geotechnical Research Laboratory, providing valuable insights into JKR’s ongoing research, innovation, and technological advancements in civil engineering.

The successful visit reaffirmed IKRAM’s position as one of Malaysia’s leading engineering and consultancy organisations committed to driving innovation, digitalisation, and technical excellence. More importantly, the engagement strengthened professional ties between IKRAM and JKR CREaTE while opening opportunities for future collaboration in research, engineering technology development, capacity building, and the wider adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) to support the nation’s infrastructure development agenda.
